Meet The Team
Dr Tara Tabari
Principal Dentist
Tara is the Principal Dentist at Portway Dental Practice. She qualified from the Royal Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden in 2002.
She relocated to London soon after where she worked fulltime and started a family. She relocated to Somerset in 2014 and has lived and worked here since.
Tara is particularly interested in treating children and nervous patients and enjoys prevention, restorative work and smile makeovers.
In her free time, Tara loves cooking and baking, spending quality time with family and friends and practising Yoga.
Dr Ed Tyler
Dentist
Dr Tyler graduated from Cardiff in 2005 (BDS) and went on to achieve a Postgraduate Dental Qualification (DPDS) from Bristol University Dental School in 2011.
Dr Tyler has enjoyed treating patients for over 14 years and has been working at Portway Dental Practice since April 2016 offering a wealth of knowledge and experience to our patients.
Dr Tyler particularly enjoys restorative dentistry to help his patients achieve a more comfortable attractive smile.
In his free time, Ed enjoys playing Golf and having been a rugby player, he supports his local team, Bath Rugby. He enjoys preserving food and cooking in general, gardening and spending time with his young family.
Dr Helen Bartlett
Principal Dentist
Helen graduated from Leeds University Dental School in 2001 and furthered her knowledge with a Postgraduate qualification from the Eastman Dental Institute in London, in 2010.
Helen has over 20 years of experience in dentistry and has worked in a variety of settings in Yorkshire and the South West. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is dedicated to providing high quality treatment for every patient.
Helen joined Portway in November 2024 and has fitted so perfectly into the Practice, its as if she has been part of the team for years.
Outside of work, Helen is kept busy with her two boys and their many hobbies! She also enjoys walking and spending time with family and friends.
Raminta Summers
Hygienist
GDC Registration Number 234089
Raminta joined the Practice January 2023 as our Hygienist. Raminta has fitted into the practice just perfectly.
Raminta graduated as a Dental hygienist and Dental therapist from King’s College Hospital, London. She is also a qualified Dental nurse and has been working in the Dental profession since 2012. Raminta is originally from Lithuania and moved to London in 2009. Raminta strives to deliver up-to-date, evidence-based treatment and enjoys attending courses and conferences.
She believes in a holistic approach when treating patients and that excellent oral health is the foundation to achieving good physical and mental wellbeing. Raminta is excellent in providing preventative advice and finds ways of improving everyone’s home self-care.
In her free time, Raminta likes cooking, crocheting, and walking her dog.
Stephanie originally started at Portway in 2014 as receptionist, after a few years of clinical training, she qualified as a Dental Nurse.
Steph is a highly valued member of staff and now with almost 10 years of dental experience and knowledge, has decided to take on a new challenge and progress her skills in management, by taking on the new role as Practice Manager. Steph is still registered to nurse where she keeps a keen interest in the clinical side of things, nursing from time to time when required.
Steph is a real foodie and in her spare time she enjoys eating out, keeping fit, seaside visits, and drinking cocktails in the sunshine.
Polly joined the practice in April 2021 as our trainee dental nurse. Polly has always had a keen interest in pursuing a career in dentistry. Polly has now completed her course and is proudly, a Qualified Dental Nurse.
Polly has settled in incredibly well and enjoys all aspects of the role, particularly seeing patients gain confidence after restorative work.
In her free time, Polly enjoys keeping fit with regular walks, baking delicious goodies for family and friends, and socialising with friends.
Elisha joined the practice in October 2022 as our trainee dental nurse. Elisha wished to pursue her Dental Nursing career, having already had some experience in the field, before joining Portway. Elisha always had a keen interest in dentistry, especially after undergoing orthodontic treatment herself. Elisha has now fully completed her course with the NEBDN and is proudly, a Qualified dental nurse since July 2024.
Elisha has settled into the practice extremely well. Elisha enjoys all aspects of her role but takes a particular interest in surgical extractions, and ensuring patients have a relaxed experience whilst they visit us for their appointments.
In her free time, Elisha enjoys going to the gym, shopping and travelling with friends and family. Elisha enjoys going on seaside walks with her labradoodle Bella, and vizsla Bailey.
Oliwia Wickiewicz
Trainee Dental Nurse
Oliwia joined the Practice in November 2025 as our Trainee Dental Nurse. Oliwia has settled into the practice extremely well.
Oliwia has always had a keen interest in pursuing a career in dentistry. In particular she has taking a particular interest in Surgical Treatments.
Oliwia is originally from Poland and moved to England in 2010. Oliwia has recently done 1 year of Au Pair work in Spain. In her free time, Oliwia enjoys teaching Spanish lessons, doing beauty treatments for family and friends and travelling.
